Interview With Downtown Greenville Developer Trey Cole

This week we sat down with Trey Cole, Owner of Cole Properties and Developer of City Homes @ Markley, a new single family home development right near the Kroc Center in the 400 block of N. Markley in downtown Greenville, SC perfectly situated near the new City Park. Why are we so excited about this new development? Here are just a few reasons. – Four dedicated parking spots included, two in attached garage and two in driveway (unheard of in the City) -Developer focus on infill* projects, designer focus on efficiency, builder on-site recycling – Guaranteed gas and electric bill of less that $150/month for the first year -Street level in-law suite or home office – 3 minute walk to GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail and 7 minute walk to Greenville Drive Stadium -Expansive living space flowing into outdoor entertaining porch with a beautiful City view These were the details that really wow’d us but everything about this development drew us in because it’s just a well thought out, well designed urban community. From the front to the interactive back street, street level to the private third floor sanctuary, from the inside great room to the outdoor entertainment space these city homes are sustainably built and designed to live well. Who is Trey Cole? Trey has been designing and building award winning residential projects in the Upstate of South Carolina for a quarter century. Our Meeting With Greenville Mayor Knox White

This past Friday we had the privilage to meet with Greenville SC Mayor Knox White in his beautiful 10th floor office in City Hall with a panoramic view of downtown Greenville SC. This is a mayor who is fully engaged with the community and very accesible to the citizens and business people.  It is very clear from the minute you talk with him that he is excited to tell you about Greenville and what has been accomplished and what is planned for the future. We were especially interested in hearing about the City’s plans for a much anticipated central park along both sides of the Reedy River just west of Academy Street and west of downtown Greenville SC. He shared with us an artist’s rendition of what the City’s vision is for the park.  He mentioned that the same artist did a painting in the initial planning stages for  of our City’s crown jewel and award winning Fall’s Park.  He remarked that the original Fall’s Park painting was unbelievably accurate to what it looks like now! Some of the features of the new park the Mayor described included a outdoor amphitheater much like the one in Millennium Park in Chicago for symphony concerts and other performances.  Did you know there is a lake in this area?  Look to the north on the painting to see the plans for this lake and pedestrian bridges crossing the Reedy River. Click on the picture below to see the vision for Mayberry Park, a much anticipated central park west of downtown Greenville SC: To help move this project forward citizens can contact Greenville City Council... read more
